AMES MADISON'S MEMORIAL & REMONSTRANCE
Chris discusses the Memorial and Remonstrance of James Madison from the year 1785. In it are contained a number of arguments about the role of government where Christianity is concerned.  What was Madison's purpose in creating the document?  Was he trying to limit the activities of Christianity?  Did he desire to place all religions on the same level?  Or was the spreading of Christianity his ultimate goal?
