KEEPING THE SABBATH The debate over the Fourth Commandment is most definitely alive and well in churches today, with many professing believers claiming that obedience to the Saturday Sabbath of the Old Testament law is still required under the New Covenant. But is this the case? The claim is made by a variety of groups, but most often by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, which is known for its many references to the Protestant Reformation and the teachings of the Reformers against Rome. Yet did any of the Reformers believe in keeping a Saturday Sabbath? It is also said that the ancient Waldenses kept the Sabbath, but is there any historical proof to support this assertion? Chris discusses the answers to these questions both Biblically and historically.
