The Katyn Massacre: Lessons from History. Chris discusses the controversial history of the mass murder of more than 20,000 Polish military officers and professionals at the beginning of World War II, known as The Katyn Forest Massacre. For decades, the Soviet government which had carried out the slaughter covered up the evidence and blamed the action on the Nazis, until Mikhail Gorbachev admitted to his nation's guilt in 1990. Also discussed is Chris's review of the Polish film, "Katyn" which dramatized the history of this tragic event in 2007. Recent reports uncover that the United States government knew of this horrific crime, but FDR refused to do anything about it, fearing he would lose the military support of Joseph Stalin.
