A number of key figures were from the World Evangelical Alliance, a group that openly admits it connections to the United Nations, the G-8 and World Bank. Since announcing that the "protest" of the Reformation is over, it is now argued that Evangelicals can become "Catholics" again -- and the unity that Christ prayed for in John 17:21 is cited as the reason why. But was the Lord praying for unity with apostates and pagans? And if so, then why did Jesus tell us that He came not to bring peace on earth, but rather, division? (Luke 12:51)
