MARK -- THE SHORT ENDING Chris discusses the last twelve verses of the Gospel of Mark, and whether or not they should be included in the Bible. For the past 150 years, critical scholars have argued that these verses were not a part of the original autographs. But what do they base their claim on? The unbelieving community often seizes upon this debate to argue that the Resurrection of Christ never really happened, since it is detailed in the longer ending of Mark's gospel. But are those verses needed to defend the fact that Jesus rose from the dead? And how should Christians view the footnote in their Bibles telling them that those verses are not found in the "oldest and most reliable" manuscripts?
