Lt. Col. (Ret.) Ray Moore is an Army Reserve Chaplain and veteran of Gulf War I which he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.  He’s the director of the Exodus Mandate Project and Chairman of the Christian Education Initiative and Chairman of PublicSchoolExit.com.  He is a homeschooling pioneer and is author of Let My Children Go.  He is script-writer and executive producer of the 2015 film, Escaping Common Core: Setting Our Children Free.

After a brief history of his own home schooling experiences as a parent, Ray described his reason for backing the effort.  He noted how Scripture is clear that the responsibility of educating children doesn’t belong to government.  It belongs to the family and the church.

170 years ago Christians and churches began to surrender this responsibility to the state.  The state allowed Christians to participate and there was a level playing field.  However, he described the current situation as very damaging to the point where, …all the waste and garbage and debris of a 170 year failed experiment in state education is now washing up on our shores all at once.’

He feels this is the time to make the switch and that, ‘…we’re in an opportune moment to see more happen than we’ve ever dreamed of.’

As the program continued, Jim had Ray comment on specific details concerning why parents should seriously consider exiting the public school system.  They included:

  • Indoctrination
  • Dumbing Down
  • Sexualizing children
  • Data mining and profiling students
  • Forced vaccinations
  • Radical Labor Unions
