They Are Arrogant & Self-righteous: Reason Sixteen of Sixteen Reasons The World's False Religions Can Unite

By Brannon S. Howse

In 2 Timothy 3:2-5, Paul warns that in the last days there will be an epidemic of arrogant, self-righteous people:

[quote] For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! [end quote]

The summary of all the reasons amounts to extreme pride and self-righteousness, and this is manifested in the attitude of these people towards others. Tony Palmer epitomized the self-righteous arrogance as he labeled as “spiritual racists” those who don’t support the Roman/NAR/Word of Faith brand of ecumenicalism:

[quote] But I’d like to say that Pope Francis has made more time for me now while he’s being pope than we ever had before; it’s a real blessing. Pope Francis and I have covenanted together, made covenant, to work together for the visible unity of Christians. He asked me and consecrated me to be a bridge for the promotion of Christian unity. . . . We may be living officially in a post-Protestant era, but many Christians today continue to suffer from spiritual racism. This is the sin, this is the sin against the cross. The cross unites, but spiritual racism divides. It aims to divide that which Christ in his own torn body united. And if we elevate anything, if we allow anything to cause division among the body or to stop us from having unity as a body, whatever that thing is, whether it be a doctrine or an expression or some form of service, then we elevate that thing that causes us to be divided higher than the cross itself. [end quote]

I fear this thinking is going to become more and more prevalent, whether from liberals in religion, liberals in the economy, or the liberals in politics. They are going to divide and label people in derogatory terms in order to gain group consensus. If you don’t conform, you will be marked, ostracized, and eventually persecuted. Palmer has taken the first step in that direction by labeling non-ecumenists (like you and me) as spiritual racists. Next will come persecution through changing the laws to bring penalties for not complying and for not getting on board with the group globalist agenda. Harsh persecution may ultimately result in jail time or even martyrdom. After all, that is, historically, how it has gone.
