Join us on Mission 18-10 of "It's NOT Rocket Science with Jason Pratt". We're back to the series on the Bible and Science as we contemplate the origin of life! We'll listen to a short clip from the movie Genesis: Paradise Lost and consider whether believers in evolution in general and organic evolution in particular believe it with a blind faith. If so why? We'll go to our launch pad to address that question from Psalms 14:1 and 53:1 as well as Romans 1:20-23. We'll highlight the 6 forms of evolution and focus in on organic evolution and the ideas of "abiogenesis" and "biogenesis". Our Scriptural Scientist Spotlight will highlight William Harvey who influenced both Francesco Redi and Louis Pasteur who where pioneers in experimental biology and proved scientifically that spontaneous generation is impossible yet it has been repackaged in the idea of abiogenesis: that life comes from non-life. This is reminiscent of the fairy tale "The Frog Prince" but taught in the fairy tale books of biology high-school and college textbooks. We'll define the terms of organic, abiogenesis, and biogenesis as we begin our quest for the origin of life.
